Welcome to Griping Griffin. It’s the imprint I created to publish my books. In case you’re curious, the name comes from a novel I wrote years ago which has not seen (and almost certainly won’t see) the light of day. The Griping Griffin was a tavern in New York.
I am currently working on the Children of the Moss, an adventure series set in Cornwall, England for 10 – 14 year olds. I decided to self-publish, since it shouldn’t harm my chances of getting a traditional publishing contract these days.
It’s also fascinating. I have to admit to being something of a geek, so the technical difficulties so many writers encounter when they venture into self-published were somewhat less daunting for me. Not that there weren’t any – far from it – but I’m used to sitting at a desk thinking that haven’t got a clue what I’m doing. I usually manage to figure it out in the end – or find a workaround, at least.
